SPLASHES: THE RHYTHM OF CHAOS & MOVEMENT

INNER TRANSFORMATION & EXTERNAL CONNECTION

Within this series, a balance emerges between internal change and external relation.

Faces function as carriers of both personal experience and collective narratives. Each one suggests a singular story, yet simultaneously reflects broader emotional and existential states.

These works invite the viewer into a process of questioning—of their own existence, and of their relationship to the world.

TOWARD THE THIRD DIMENSION

During this period, Kayhan extends her practice beyond the flat surface.

By incorporating materials such as fabric, wax, and varied textures, she constructs layered compositions that move toward a three-dimensional understanding of the face. Material becomes not only a medium, but a language—revealing the shifting, unstable, and weighted nature of emotional states.

This transition toward depth reflects a broader concern: the relationship between body, nature, and time, understood as an ongoing process of transformation.

RETHINKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Faces series is not limited to introspection; it is equally a process of examining relationships.

Family, intimacy, friendship, and social bonds become central points of inquiry. Through this series, Kayhan reflects on how connections are formed, sustained, and broken.

Themes such as the loss of sincerity, duplicity, artificial relationships, and the tension between authentic and superficial connections are translated into visual form through distortion and expression.

These works record a process of reconstruction—of redefining boundaries, re-evaluating trust, and re-establishing connections.
