I’m Şebnem —
an interdisciplinary artist and designer who draws inspiration from my background in urban planning. I take great joy in transforming everything that surrounds, intrigues, and moves me into creative material for my artistic practice.

Alongside my studio work, I’m also the co-founder of RunArte Creative Agency (we often collaborate between the studio and agency projects), and I’ve been teaching for years at Istanbul Technical University, where I use the #urbansketching methodology in my architectural drawing courses to bridge the gap between architecture and sketching.

In my art practice, I believe that experimenting with new techniques and combining different materials — sometimes separately, sometimes together — renews an artist’s imagination and motivation. For this reason, I create both by physically engaging with paint and by exploring the possibilities of digital platforms.
