ARTISTIC PRACTICE
Şebnem Kayhan’s artistic practice unfolds through the continuous act of seeing, sensing, and mapping invisible connections. Her work is not only an exploration of perception, but also a layered way of constructing narratives. These narratives are not linear; they emerge within emotional fields where space, body, and memory intertwine.
Drawing, painting, digital layers, and spatial interventions are not separate disciplines in her practice, but different surfaces of the same story. As Kayhan traces the transitions between inner states and external spaces, she renders these passages visible—sometimes through a face, sometimes through a city drawing, and sometimes within a digital void.
Each work functions both as a record of a personal moment and as part of a collective memory. Her practice speaks of fragility, attention, and the act of being together—without raising its voice, yet leaving a lasting trace.
